This Festive Drink – A Recipe
WHere is an easy version of a drink found on the seasonal drinks list. It's a large-volume pre-mixed that's bursting with the essence of the Christmas time, rendering it perfect for hosting a festive gathering. Save the extra cordial for breakfast cocktails, sweets, or to make more rounds of the drink.
The Bikini Cocktail
Yields 10 guests
To make the Clementine Syrup (yields 750ml)
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g fine sugar
Ingredients for the Cocktail (makes 850ml, enough for 10)
400ml premium vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
Fresh cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Directions
To prepare the Cordial: Put every ingredients into a saucepan, heat until it reaches a light boil, agitating until the sugar dissolves. Then, remove from the stove allowing it to cool fully. Transfer to a clean bottle, cap it keeping it chilled, it will last for around one month.
For the Cocktail Base: Combine every liquids into a large bottle, let it rest for one hour, then filter it , ideally through a fine cloth, making it perfectly clear.
When ready to serve: Measure 85ml of your batch mix into your stirring glass containing ice, and agitate carefully for a minute to chill. Strain into an frosted cocktail glass or a similar vessel, top with some cranberries adding the final touch by giving it a light spray of the essential oil over the top.
